For a full list of my airport tour and visit videos, visit https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYtyZPMUWeI9041CFmsThscnubE7A1rNE . (Airport Tour #11) Here's my tour of Taipei Taoyuan Airport (TPE/RCTP), the main international gateway into Taiwan. TPE ranks 19th worldwide in terms of international passenger traffic (as of 2011), putting it in between Zürich and Barcelona. I was quite impressed with Taoyuan -- there are a number of interesting sites in the gate areas, such as signs made out of of semiconductors and an exhibit on indigenous culture. The tour includes Terminals 1 and 2, along with footage of the A, B, C and D gates. The tour was recorded on June 26 and July 4, 2013. Hope you enjoy!
Taoyuan is a stopover I've done many times to change flights over the years and here's breif walkaround video of the terminal as most of you that'll fly EVA will witness during your layover. My opinion: It's a very nice terminal. There could be a few more food options as I'm not a big fan of the beef broth noodle soups that a lot of the restaurants serve. You'll find plenty of wide open walkways and quiet areas where you can relax in peace before boarding your next flight. Enjoy your visit here, you won't be let down! Comparison between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (臺灣桃園國際機場) and Hong Kong International Airport (香港國際機場). The Taiwan airport (TPE) segment shows the departure and arrival area. The Hong Kong airport (HKG) segment shows the departure area only. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is located in Taoyuan city and was named Chiang Kai-shek International Airport (CKS International Airport) before 2006. The Hong Kong International Airport is located on Chek Lap Kok island and was originally called Chek Lap Kok Airport (赤鱲角機場). The airport replaced the closed Kai Tak Airport in 1998.

I just completed immigration and am walking through the airport for the first time. I want too find the different areas that my be required by visitors and wanted to see how difficult it would be to locate them. The signage is all written in both Chinese and English. Restrooms, the food court, emergency medical help, banks, ATMs, money, exchange, and transportation by bus and getting to the high speed rail system are all very easy as you will see in the video. In the next of video I will purchase a ticket and go to Taipei by bus. There I will go to the MRT underground subway.
